The Speedmaster Reduced and the Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch are definitely among the most popular Omega models at the moment. At first glance, the two watches look amazingly similar. But where is the difference?
We at GOAT LUXURY took a close look at the watches and compared them! The following differences can be identified:
The case diameter
The most noticeable difference is the size of the case. The case of the Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch has a diameter of 42 mm. The Speedmaster Reduced (also called Speedmaster Automatic), on the other hand, has, as the name suggests, a “reduced” case diameter. At 38mm, the housing of the Speedy Reduced is 4mm smaller.
The side of the case
One of the other notable differences is the design of the case flank. The chronograph pushers on the Reduced sit higher than the winding crown. The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch is completely different. Here the pushers and the winding crown form one line.

The clockwork
There are also clear differences inside the Omega watches. While the Speedy Reduced has an automatic movement, the Speedy Professional Moonwatch was equipped with a hand-wound movement. Both works definitely have their advantages.
The dial
Speedmaster Reduced This also explains the different dial designs. The lettering "Automatic" can be seen on the dial of the Speedy Reduced. In addition, the sub-dials on the Omega Speedmaster Reduced are far from the center of the dial – those on the Moonwatch, on the other hand, are closer to the center of the dial. Also the Minute markers on the Speedy Reduced are at the hour markers.

The price
In terms of price, the two watches differ most from each other, because the Omega Moonwatch is significantly more expensive than the Reduced. The price of an Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch starts at €4,500 on the secondary market. The Omega Speedmaster Reduced starts at around €2,500. This is also the reason why the Omega Reduced is the ideal entry-level watch. Although it does not have the legendary status of the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch (which is extremely important for many watch lovers), it is definitely one of the top watches in terms of value for money.
